ELECTRICAL WORK
OPTION 1 (2.5 kW – 3.5 kW): Power for the air-conditioner using an existing local circuit whereby we connect to this via either an existing air-conditioner nearby or power point. This is included in a standard installation. Only for 2.5 – 3.5Kw Air Conditioners, this is included in the above installation prices.
OPTION 2 (5 kw – 9 kW): New circuit with RCD/RCBO protection (from the air-conditioner to switchboard) is to be fitted for the air conditioner. This cost is between $350 – $550 incl GST and is confirmed onsite depending upon scenario of work. This Quote is based on a lowset home, easy roof access, and tile roof with a power run up to 20m through the ceiling cavity. This must always be installed for larger air conditioners from 5Kw to 8Kw, this is included in the above installation prices, prices may change depending upon electrical installation work.

WARNING As of January 2019 the Electrical Safety Office of QLD has changed the regulations (AS/NZS 3000:2007) for installing new air conditioning systems. All new air conditioning units no matter the KW’s must be on a dedicated circuit back to the switchboard with its own RCD/RCBO breaker by law or on a suitable electrical circuit that is protected by an RCD/RCBO. Replacing existing airconditioning units comes under repair and existing dedicated power circuit may be reused.

BACK-2-BACK
A back-to-back installation applies to a wall or floor mounted heat pump. It means that the outdoor unit is directly behind or below the indoor unit. The outdoor unit is mounted on a rubber/plastic feet. Optionally can be on concrete/poly slab or wall brackets for additional cost.
SINGLE STOREY
Single storey is deemed to be an installation with a 3 meter run between the indoor unit and the compressor (Low-set home or building). Any further distances are at an additional cost. $55 per meter for Ducting, Copper, Electrical
TWO STOREY
Two storey is deemed to be an installation with a 5 meter run between the indoor unit and the compressor (High-set home or building). Any further distances are at an additional cost. $55 per meter for Ducting, Copper, Electrical
UP AND OVER
Pipe work installed through the ceiling cavity where a standard installation (back 2 back) is not possible, this is priced at $35-$45 per meter + the initial installation on the standard split systems above. A water pump may also be required if the indoor unit cannot drain through an external wall e.g. installed on an internal wall of the home.

Surface mounted electrical conduit 10mm when required if no ceiling or wall cavity is available to run the electrical circuit to the switchboard, most common in apartments. We charge additional costs.
